Embodied Writing
a writing circle for midlife women who want to explore the complexities of having a body
through writing.
You’ll show up as your full, unvarnished self with your pen (or your laptop) and a willingness to tell your truth in a community of like-minded creative women.
I’ll provide juicy writing prompts and a safe container, plus plenty of tea, chocolate, and a tarot card.
Together, we’ll unleash the creativity churning under the surface to make meaning of our experiences.
No writing experience is required. Come as you are!
Throughout September, we’ll meet on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:00 in South Boulder
Meeting dates:
9/2
9/9
9/16
9/23- skip for Rosh Hashanah
9/30
To preserve intimacy, there will be no more than eight participants.
Price: $150
*Exact location will be shared upon registration
Each week we’ll explore a new theme
Week 1: Feeding the body
Week 2: Clothing the body
Week 3: Moving the body
Week 4: Honoring the body

Frequently asked questions
-
Nope. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not, you’re welcome in this group. The only requirement is that you have a desire to write.
-
If you feel like you’re in midlife, you’re welcome here! Still not sure if you’re midlife? Signs may include a new interest in birdwatching or gardening, confusion when you hear the word “skibidi” and fresh whiskers that pop up out of nowhere.
-
Sharing will be encouraged- you might be surprised how healing it is to let others witness your creations but, no, sharing is never required.
-
Only the positive kind! The goal is simply to generate new writing and build community. If you’re looking for suggestions on how to polish and/or publish your work, I’m available for 1:1 coaching.
-
No you don’t have to be embodied to join! The name is aspirational. Embodiment is the experience of tuning into and being present with the sensations arising from and within your body.
-
It depends what you mean by body positive. If you mean you’re positive it’s been really fucking hard to be a woman in a body, then yes.
If you’re asking whether the goal is to leave this workshop convinced that we are beautiful and sexy and amazing, no. (Although if that happens, great!) I’m a proponent of body neutrality- which to me means accepting our body in whatever form it is in, if not admiring it on a daily basis. Whatever you believe about body acceptance wherever you are on your path, you’re welcome here.
